The Mobile SMS Gateway lets you use a real Android phone as the SMS endpoint for your agent. Perfect for markets where carrier APIs aren't available or where you want SMS sent from a normal consumer number.
What you'll need
- An Android phone with the Chatzuri Mobile SMS app installed
- An active SIM in that phone
- Stable internet on the phone (Wi-Fi or mobile data)
Generate a team API key
From Team settings → API Keys, create a key with messaging access. The Mobile SMS app will use this to authenticate.
Install and pair the app
Install the Chatzuri Mobile SMS app on the Android phone. Open it, paste the API key, and pick the agent it should send messages on behalf of.
Grant SMS read and send permissions when prompted.
Open Connect → Mobile SMS
On the agent's Connect tab, click Mobile SMS. You should see your paired phone listed.
Test
From any other phone, SMS the SIM in the paired Android. Your agent's reply arrives via SMS.
How it works
Inbound SMS arrives at the phone. The app posts each message to Chatzuri via the API key. Your agent generates a reply, the app polls for replies, and sends them out via the phone's normal SMS function.
