Sozuri provides two-way SMS optimised for African networks (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and beyond). It's the right SMS choice if your customers are predominantly on the continent.
Before you start
- A Sozuri account with SMS enabled
- An approved sender ID or short code
- Your Sozuri API credentials

Open Connect → Sozuri SMS
On the agent's Connect tab, click Sozuri SMS.

Enter your credentials
- API key (from your Sozuri dashboard)
- Sender ID
- Default country code (optional but recommended)

Set up the inbound webhook
Chatzuri shows you a webhook URL. In Sozuri's dashboard under Inbound SMS, set the destination URL for incoming messages.

Test
From a phone, SMS your sender ID / short code. The agent replies via SMS.
Tuning for SMS
- Add to your system prompt: "Keep replies under 160 characters where possible. Use plain text only — no Markdown."
- Disable streaming under Settings → AI configuration
- Each SMS segment is 160 GSM characters or 70 Unicode (emoji, accents). Long messages split into multiple segments.
